What is Id-me?

Id-me is an authentication platform using biometry to capture a biological characteristic such as fingerprint or facial features of a person for automated verification. Only biometrics can prove the user’s real presence, since it is based on unique user traits that cannot be lost, stolen, guessed or shared.

Id-me allows to add to your web, cloud or mobile services quick, strong and convenient biometric authentication that recognizes users via biometrics. Currently Id-me supports fingerprint scanning combined with SMS passcode and one-time-password, but the facility is developed to include in future biometric features such as face, iris, voice, and handpalm in various stages.

How it works

Biometric data needed for recognition are typically collected using a sensor. Data collected is irreversibly converted in a digital form. A fingerprint is made up of a pattern of ridges and furrows. Data about them is sent, encrypted with a scanner specific key to the Id-me Authentication Server for matching identity and this result will only be sent to the server of the customer to authorize a person depending on customer rules access for this person.

SaaS

The Id-me Software-as-a-service (Saas) portal demonstrates flexibility, simplifies deployment and reduces customer acquisition costs. You can integrate biometric authentication next to the existing authentication method in you company as username/password, token, smartcards or others. The subscription-based SaaS pricing model keeps IT budget costs consistent and enables companies to scale as fast and as much as needed without replacing costly infrastructure or adding IT staff.

On Premises

Corporate customers can also choose the ‘On Premises’ version, where the Id-me authentication server will be deployed in-house. With the ‘On Premises’ version consultancy services and training is recommended to help the IT department in providing first line support.
